I would suggest that you do your set up via the HP Desktop configuration software (available free on instead of doing it from the panel. This printer could take a little bit of time to set up, if you're trying to do it from the printer panel. But, I went with my gut feeling and I think I made the right decision. I find this kind of Linux support remarkable and if I worked at HP I would put a big stamp on the box saying “Great Linux supported”. I have no problems scanning, printing, copying, checking ink levels, cleaning the printer from the Linux interface.
